Week three of this ad hoc Photoshop painting experiment. Two brushes here. I used a hard edged jagged parallel line brush (made initially to do water reflections) for a background texture. Then 90% of the painting is done with a brush designed for randomness. It’s a widely spaced irregular blob shape, with a couple of big internal gaps. Designed to make ‘stray hair’ marks. I’m trying to follow my own preaching – that you should draw your own custom brushes from scratch, (instead of sampling). Eventually you start to know what kind of mark you’ll get from a given stencil.
