The Home Project…
Was just linked over to the Home project channel up on youtube. (Thanks Dave!) Amazing aerial photography. I’d love to see it on IMAX sometime. The film is also a very lucid, very weighty, presentation of the dangers of climate change and unsustainable development. I imagine educators such as my childhood hero David Suzuki (who was discussing these issues 10-15 years ago) would like the film – but be disturbed that issues are taking so long to penetrate our brains. It’s ironc that the message can only be brought to home by incredible technologial pressentatons like this.
On a personal note – I was involved in a game pitch a while back that was canceled before it even began. Pretty much no interest at all from our publisher. They couldn’t see the niche for a game without weapons or enemies. We were trying to get across exactly this kind of imagery with the concepts. Sadly I wasn’t able to be convincing enough at the time. (In my own trivial way, like Mr Suzuki and his sustainablity message). Sometimes there are things you just can’t ’sell’ with a static drawing. I wish we had had this amazing film to show what the aerial experience could have been like…
