here’s one done just for the fun of it…saw this photo, and really liked the expression….

Polly and her staples

Tonight was another digital longpose with model Polly Conway. Last time we drew (a costumed pose) she told us an interesting story about giving her kidney to her mother; this session, I noticed these three ’staple’ marks on her right side - presumably from the endoscopic surgery - I thought those signs of the life saving operation should go into the portrait…

Sunday Night Sketchgroup…

…playing with some costume designs - lately I’m looking at some out-of-the-game-world designers - stuff from the fashion blogs - check out Gareth Pugh, Aitor Throup…I’m hoping new game tech is going to give us some neat cloth/hair/fur materials - and that’s going to allow us to pull from wider influences…(like, something beyond the body armor derived designs that are so universal right now)….

I love drawing costumes :) ….so often (in games anyway) we’re restricted by animation concerns…but one day we’ll have all the fabric, fur and feathers we really want to use!

Girls of Gaming…

Here’s a Golden Axe pin-up I did a while back…it’s kind of an artistic-license rendition of the main character Tyris. This got used in Play Magazine’s online edition (Girl’s of Gaming), so, since it’s published I think it’s safe to show, even though the game’s not out…
